Well, here we are staring down the barrel of another Louisiana summer. But for right now, let’s forget all about that and revel in the fact that it is Spring.
And a beautiful spring it has been so far. We’ve had a tiny bit of foul weather here at South Toledo Bend, but for the most part we’ve had some of the prettiest days one can easily imagine.
The park is coming to life after its winter slumber; the campgrounds and the cabins are running at nearly full capacity on the weekends. The fisherman are starting to pile in again for day use, and though the fishing went through sort of a slump a few weeks ago, it has picked up dramatically in the last week, with people catching some very good sized bass. One of our guests caught a 12 lb. 11 oz. bass; considering that the state record is 15.97 pounds, 12 lb 11 oz. is very respectable.
Well, I guess that’s it for today’s entry. I don’t think that it will be possible for me to make an entry for each day that I work; especially with summer coming on, some days it’s just going to be too busy. But, I intend to start making entries as often as possible, so check back with me. I’ll try to entertain. 🙂
And, I couldn’t stand the thought of signing off without giving you some type of image to look at. I tried a few days ago to get a good picture of the dogwoods that are currently decorating the second story of our woodlands. I was trying to catch that magical shot that would make you go ooh and ahh. I failed miserably, I think, but I did get a few images. Here’s the best, hope you enjoy.
